Geography

At Aldbury we have developed a long-term plan for Geography which aims to develop children’s experiences and understanding of Geography, inspiring and creating curiosity of the local and wider world.

Children are taught Geography through Topics and complete at least two half terms of Geography teaching each year.  Our curriculum is progressive and transferable so that children develop their skills during their time at Aldbury and beyond.  In our school children are passionate about the environment so aspects of this are included in our curriculum.  Children are also taught:

• Locational knowledge
• Place knowledge
• Human and Physical geography
• Geographical skills and Field skills
