Class 4 swapped their books for the great outdoors last week to re-enact the perilous journey an Ancient Egyptian soul took to reach the 'Field of Reeds'. The playground was transformed into the underworld, where pupils navigated the complex rituals and dangers faced by the deceased.

The journey began with the vital process of mummification, with the children learning why the body had to be preserved so the soul could recognise its home. From there, the 'souls' faced a series of physical obstacles and evaded monstrous creatures lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike.

The experience culminated in the dramatic 'Weighing of the Heart', where they discovered how the scales balanced a heart against a feather to judge a person's life deeds. ⚖️
