Class 4 have had a very active and insightful history experience over the past few weeks. ⚔️
The children took on the role of historians to debate the reliability of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles, exploring why it is a vital source of evidence and why certain parts must be taken with a ‘pinch of salt.’ This level of source interrogation was fantastic to see.
To visualise the complex history of the period, the children also created a physical family tree of Edward the Confessor using string and paper. This helped them trace the fascinating links between Viking and Saxon lines, illustrating how they were often half-brothers.
Thank you to the Class 4 team for bringing such a complex period of history to life through these engaging, practical sessions.
