Writing in Reception

This term, our talented Reception pupils have embarked on an exciting journey through our new 'Literacy Tree' unit centred around the story of Anansi the Spider! Over the past few weeks, our little learners have been diving deep into the vibrant culture of Ghana and the enchanting world of storytelling.

🗺️ They kicked off this adventure by locating Ghana on a world map.

🎶 The children enjoyed singing a traditional West-African call and response song, immersing themselves in the rhythm of storytelling.

🕷️ An unexpected sack appeared in the classroom, revealing a mischievous spider! This led to lively discussions as the children explored labels and shared the story of 'Anansi the Spider.'

👀 Upon arriving into class one day, the children discovered that the spiders had vanished! They created ‘Lost Posters’ to help find our 8 legged friends.

The children were so engaged by this great story - we can't wait to see what story they explore next.
