Aldbury C of E Primary and Nursery School

Welcome

Welcome to Aldbury Church of England

Primary and Nursery School.

'Live life in all its fullness'

Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. The website is just the start of our school and will hopefully give you an insight into our school along with regular updates and news.

We are a small, rural school set within the beautiful surroundings of Aldbury close to Tring and Ashridge National Trust Park.  We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment where every child receives the education and support for learning that they need.

Our school is a happy and busy place where everyone is valued and challenged to fulfil their full potential. We achieve this through a curriculum that allows them to be inspired and ambitious; including those children with SEND and those that are disadvantaged. Our curriculum is carefully planned to ensure the children’s skills are built upon year on year so by the time they are ready to transition on to the next phase of their education, they are not only resilient, confident and happy children but self motivated and active citizens of society.

Excellent attendance and behaviour enables our fantastic teachers to teach and our children to learn which leads to good standards in Reading, Writing and Maths and all other subjects.  Alongside our curriculum we offer a range of extra curricular opportunities to suit a variety of interests and enhance the curriculum through trips, visits and visitors to engage pupils and ignite a passion for learning.

We provide pupils with the foundations for maintaining good mental health throughout their further education and into adult life.  ‘Zones of Regulation’ are used to teach the children to self - regulate their needs as well as their emotions.

As a church school, our strong Christian values and ethos of Respect, Responsibility and Friendship, underpin all our work, making our school a happy, safe and engaging place to be.  It also gives all of our children an excellent platform for embracing differences.

We have close links with the parish church of St John the Baptist and work closely with other church schools in the local area.  Reverend Michelle delivers Collective Worship weekly within the school and supports the children in the classroom when possible.  Many of our children transfer on to Tring Church of England Secondary school.

We have worked hard to ensure that pupils are capable of understanding their position as global citizens, recognising not just the differences between cultures but more importantly, the essential commonalities between us all and will continue to do so. Every effort has been made to include opportunities to teach this across the whole curriculum.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
