Aldbury C of E Primary and Nursery School

School Council

At Aldbury we believe that it is really important that we consult with our pupils and consider their opinions, ideas and thoughts.  The purpose of the school council is to represent the views and opinions of pupils and to be a forum for active and constructive pupil input into the daily life of our school.  Each class from years 1 - 6 elect two representatives each year elections take place in September

The school council benefits the whole school as it gives opportunities for pupils to communicate feelings and opinions to staff as well as influencing decisions that are made.  The school council meets at least once a half term.  The meetings are led and minutes by the member of staff responsible for the School Council.

Pupils who are elected are expected to:

  • Attend all meetings
  • Talk to the classes they represent, feedback and share information and ideas
  • Have ideas to share with the school council
  • Consider the views and opinions of others
  • Be identifiable by wearing their school council badge.
